As Florida Begins to Re-Open, Let Us All Still Remain Vigilant and Safe

“Phase one” of Florida’s re-opening after our month-long “safer-at-home” statewide order begins today for most of the state except for Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. These counties have an elevated number of cases, way ahead of the rest of the State and will be phased in as their cases decline.

For counties where “phase one” re-opening will take place today, residents will now be able to visit state parks, elective surgeries can now resume, retailers and restaurants can now open with indoor and outdoor capacity and dining restrictions adhering to social distancing. Schools throughout the State will remain closed for the remainder of the school year and virtual learning will continue during “phase one.” Visits to senior living facilities is not included in this phase, to protect vulnerable seniors. Vacation rentals will continue to be prohibited during “phase one” of the re-opening of the State of Florida.

During this time, it is important to remain vigilant and safe. Social distancing and all the precautions taken during the height of the crisis are still recommended. While face coverings are not mandatory to wear when interacting with others especially in public, it is still highly recommended. Any non-essential travel should also be avoided. Continue proper hygiene practices such as frequent handwashing, the use of hand sanitizers, as well as, cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces often.
